Business
Rockwell Automation, Inc. (NYSE: ROK) provides industrial automation and digital transformation solutions to manufacturers worldwide. The company operates through three segments: Intelligent Devices, offering drives, motion control, safety components, sensors, industrial components, and configured-to-order products including Allen-Bradley branded controllers such as Logix and PowerFlex drives; Software & Control, providing control and visualization software and hardware such as FactoryTalk suite for MES, analytics, design, operations, digital twin, simulation, and network security infrastructure; and Lifecycle Services, delivering digital consulting, engineered-to-order solutions, cybersecurity, remote monitoring, asset management, maintenance, and training services including the Sensia joint venture. Rockwell Automation sells its portfolio primarily through independent distributors, a direct sales force, and system integrator partners to discrete, process, hybrid, and batch industries such as automotive, food and beverage, oil and gas, and logistics across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Founded in 1903 as the Compression Rheostat Company by Lynde Bradley and Dr. Stanton Allen in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where it maintains headquarters, the company evolved from Allen-Bradley controls acquired by Rockwell International in 1985 and spun off as an independent public entity in 2001. Recent developments include a March 2025 strategic investment and collaboration with RightHand Robotics to scale its RightPick piece-picking solution for logistics customers within the Rockwell ecosystem; an November 2025 announcement to build its largest global greenfield manufacturing campus in southeastern Wisconsin as part of a $2 billion five-year investment plan to enhance U.S. manufacturing capacity, digital infrastructure, and workforce development amid reshoring trends; and ongoing emphasis on software-defined automation, autonomous mobile robots, and simulation tools to drive margin expansion and growth in fiscal 2025.
